Hi all,

We continue to be thankful for your partnership with us in the cause of the gospel in this part of God's world.  As we see God at work in our lives and circumstances, we are reminded of the many people faithfuly standing behind us in prayer.  We are amazed that God chooses to use us to serve Him in this place and that he has chosen to use you as you intercede on our behalf.  It is great to be part of such a big team, though we may be so far apart geographically.

Since leaving Australia just over 15 months ago we have had 7 major moves involving stays of longer than 1 month (the longest being 3 months and 3 days).  When we arrived in G, we were looking forward to staying put for a while and putting down some roots.  We have appreciated getting to know many different people and families in G, and feel that we are establishing relationships that we'll be able to build on for many years to come.

To our friends and family,
WE WISH YOU A VERY BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR, AND WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR.

“Have you gone as far as your providential tether will allow in obedience to the Great Commission?” –C.H. Spurgeon.

Our providential tether has stretched as far as G.  We have been in our new home for three and a half weeks now and we praise God for leading us this far.  Over the past few years, as we have been working toward ministry in this place, we have certainly felt our personal and circumstantial limitations.  In fact there were days  when we felt our providential tether couldn’t stretch much further than our front door, but again we know it is God who has enabled us. And we thank you for your prayers also.

Hi,

it has been almost two months since our last update, so we probably have too much to report in this not-so-short update.
* We are currently staying at a Guest House in M.  We arrived here on Wednesday, the day before the coup d’état which has brought a change of government to Niger.  Though there was a short battle in N the rest of the country has been peaceful.  Apart from a curfew Thursday night till Friday morning, and the replacement of all government ministers and regional governors with their general secretaries, very little has changed in the daily experience of life out here.  However, we thought it might be wise to stay a few extra days in Maradi before heading home to gé.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-181

Hi and welcome to the first edition of “Bartsch Territory” where we hope to keep you all up to date with what we’re up  to. Firstly, a big thankyou to all who have been praying for us.  We have now been up here for  a month with  challenges along the way already, but God has seen us through.  Our journey to the territory started at 3:00am on  18th  January as we drove both cars to Melbourne with all aboard including the cat and dog.  We then offloaded the pets and cars before catching our flight.
